My Bridesmaid Makeup Picks!

Hello there, lovelies!

Sorry I haven’t posted this week! I’ve been doing lots of dorm shopping (look out for that soon 🙂 ), and it’s been really crazy! I move in next week to my dorm, and I’d appreciate some advice!

Anyway, about two weeks ago, my second oldest brother got married to his girlfriend of ten years, and with any wedding, makeup is one of my top priorities! So, a lot of preparation went into my makeup look for the wedding, especially because I was a bridesmaid! Here’s what I wore!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

IMG_8787

Thank you, Jaclyn Hill, for once again prompting me to buy another thing from Sephora. 🙂 This is pretty unconventional as far as primers go because it’s a spray instead of a cream, but dang, it works. This would work wonderfully well for drier skin types because it’s particularly hydrating, but it still leaves a lot of tact on the skin for the foundation to stick to. And it doesn’t feel sticky, which is great!

Physicians Formula Touch of Glow Foundation in Light

IMG_8792

I bought this foundation during the 40% off sale that Ulta had about two months ago, and I have been LOVING it! It has light-to-medium coverage and, like the name suggests, a dewy-glowy finish. It looks SO natural on the skin, and amazingly enough, it doesn’t look too oily in my T-zone. I have combination-oily skin, so this is really hard to find! I did set it with powder just because of my oiliness, but this is so great for foundation when you want to have a little more coverage than a BB Cream. The one thing I don’t like about this is that it only comes in three shades, and I’m only in the lightest shade in the summer, so I probably can’t use it in the winter. But I’ll probably be looking for a more matte foundation in the winter anyway. I’m obsessed!

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow Stick

IMG_8796

Spoiler alert for my review coming soon…but this has become my holy grail concealer. Same with the foundation in that the shade leave a little to be desired, but it’s SOOO creamy! It blends in flawlessly to the skin even despite the odd shade, and again, it has that same glow to it that the foundation does. And can we talk about the packaging? SO adorable!

Bare Minerals Mineral Veil

IMG_8800

I knew that I was going to be photographed a lot, so I needed something that wouldn’t leave a white cast in pictures like a white powder would. This has a beige tint to it, and I prefer loose powders anyway because I feel like they soak up my oils better than pressed powders, and this worked so well on wedding day. It’s a staple!

Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray

IMG_8803

You know me. I can’t do any look without this. It locks my makeup in place and gets rid of any cakey-ness that my powder might give me. It also feels great on hot summer days!

Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop

IMG_8808

Oh, man. This is stunning. I got this about a month ago, and it’s all I’ve been wearing! It is the most beautiful color to wear in the summer (kind of a peach with a hint of pink and almost orange? I’m really bad at describing colors haha), and they’re a “cream”-to-powder finish. Ugh just get it! It’s so great!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop

IMG_8812

I don’t even need to tell you that I love it. Everyone loves it, and for good reason. It is so complimentary to my skin and has the most GORGEOUS, glowing, shimmery finish on your cheekbones. Go to your local Sephora and just give it a swirl. You’ll fall in love, too!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded

IMG_8817

I knew I needed a cream eyeshadow for wedding day because it is sooooo long-wearing and will stay just as beautiful at the end of the night as it was when I applied it. I chose the color Barely Branded because it’s a shimmery cream (color, not product), and it goes with any eyeshadow look I would’ve picked.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows in Creme Brulee, In the Spotlight, and Cosmopolitan

IMG_8818

You guys know that I looooooove my Makeup Geek shadows! I was going for a more strobed look on my eyes for the wedding, so of course I looked to my foiled eyeshadows! Love ’em!

Stila Stay All-Day Liquid Eyeliner

IMG_8825

Again, SUCH a long-wearing item, super easy to apply, super black, and I love it. Not much explanation needed!

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara

IMG_8834

I’ve used this so much that the writing has worn off! It’s a sample, but it gives volume and length, and it’s probably one of my favorite high-end mascaras! It can tend to get a little clumpy, so be careful.

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Espresso

IMG_8833

I’m pretty new to doing brows because I was blessed with my dad’s bushy brows, but I picked this up on clearance, and it gives a little tint to the sparse areas in the front of my brows. It’s not super easy to use. You have to do some finagling to make sure it doesn’t get outside your brow frame, but it pretty much doesn’t leave where you place it, so it’s alright.

Aaaand for some reason I forgot to photograph my lip color? Don’t know, but I wore the Rimmel Show-Off Matte Velvet Lip Lacquer in Meteoric Matte! Perfect color to complement my sapphire dress!

There you have it! That’s what I wore on my brother’s wedding day! Have any recommendations for future posts? Leave a comment down below! What makeup would you wear for a bridesmaid look? Thanks for reading!

See you soon, lovelies! Keep strong, be kind, and stay beautiful! 🙂

June Favorites!

Hello there, lovelies!

Isn’t it crazy how time flies? It’s already the end of June! I go to college in a little over a month…oh dear. 😉

Anyway, I’d like to share with you the products that I have been loving over the past month! It really does take a lot for me to make a product a favorite, and these have made the cut! Check them out!

IMG_7288

1.) Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked in Pink ($6.99, Walgreens)

I tend to have oily eyelids, so cream eyeshadows and primers that really stick to my lid are a godsend. I first bought this Color Tattoo (by the way, shout out to the entire line. They’re SO longwearing and have beautiful colors!) for Valentine’s Day to do a romantic pinky eye, but I’ve recently rediscovered it, and I LOVE it for an everyday eyeshadow base. It is not as pigmented as it is in the pot at first, but if you keep layering it, it has comes out at this wonderfully pigmented pink color! It’s beautiful on its own, with a matte tan thrown in the crease, or as a base for added eyeshadow on top. I haven’t been able to stop wearing it!

2.) Bare Minerals Mineral Veil ($21, Sephora)

I love this loose powder for an everyday matte finish that doesn’t look too cakey or unnatural. It is not the most finely powder I have (ahem, Make Up Forever Microfinish Powder), but because it has the slightest hint of skintone to it, it doesn’t come off as ashy as some finishing powders do. To get the most natural look, I set it with another favorite of mine this month, which I will list next. 😉

3.) Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray ($30, Sephora)

As mentioned above, I love to set my entire face with this stuff for the most natural-looking and long-wearing makeup I can achieve. I know this is a makeup no-no, but I left my makeup on over night last night, and I could STILL wipe off some foundation after applying it 10 am the day before! This is also really great for reducing ‘cake face’ because it brings back some moisture lost by putting powder on, but the great thing about this is it doesn’t bring back oil! I know the price is steep, but it’s so worth it!

4.) Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara ($18, Sephora)

I received this mascara in a Bare Minerals kit that I got from one of my very good friends for my birthday back in April (Hey, Abii!), and I had only recently tried it. I have to say that this is GREAT! For me, I don’t like the spidery, overly voluminous lashes. This mascara gave better than average volume without the clump and the spideryness that I usually get from most mascaras. The term “flawless definition” is very fitting. Will definitely be a repurchase!

5.) e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Coffee ($3, Target)

Okay, I’ll admit. At first try, I kind of hated this, but I’ll attribute that to I didn’t really know what I was doing in the eyeliner department. However, I’ve been feeling extra adventurous lately, so I decided to give this a second shot, and let me tell you, this stuff is most DEFINITELY worth the $3! I love how subtle it looks on the eye because of the brown color, and how you can get the closest line to the eye because of the cream consistency. It’s always very creamy (hence the name :)), so it’s very simple to apply it with any typical eyeliner brush (e.g. Sigma E05). Seriously, take the plunge.

6.) Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge ($6, Ulta)

If you read my Stay or Stray on this vs. the Beauty Blender (and if you haven’t, you should :)), you’ll know that I love this sponge! It’s a little less dense than the Beauty Blender, but the application of foundation looks practically the same. And for less than half the price, this is definitely the way to go! Definitely the best Beauty Blender ‘dupe’ I’ve tried!

Well, there you go! Those are my June favorites! If you have any recommendations for upcoming posts, leave a comment down below! Be kind, love yourself, and stay fabulous. 🙂
